## What is a skill?

A skill is an instruction for a task, such as checking a connection, analyzing business data or preparing a document. It helps your AI assistant select the right workflow. It grants no extra permissions and does not replace a working connection.

## Install and verify

1. Sign in, open [Skills](https://ai.wals.pro/skills?lang=en) and select your AI client.
2. Check the offered installation path: plugin, Git installation or ZIP package.
3. Install the skills in your client and start a new session if needed.
4. Check in the client that the skills are available. Then ask: **“Use weclapp-get-started, check my connection and only read.”**

The [public skill collection](https://github.com/Wals-pro/weclapp-skills) is readable without a platform sign-in. Its README describes current package installation. A plugin may already include an MCP connection: check that access before adding another connection. The GitHub marketplace and a vendor-directory listing are different installation paths.

A download or copied command may mark the Setup step. The platform cannot see whether installation actually finished in your client. **Verify it in the client.** ZIP installations require you to install newer copies yourself; for other paths, check the relevant update settings.

## Add house rules

House rules describe how your company works, such as information that must be clarified before preparing a quotation. Your administrator maintains them under **House rules** in the signed-in dashboard, where access permits it.

Skills provide general workflows; house rules add your requirements. Neither replaces permissions or [preview and approval](https://ai.wals.pro/help/approvals). Write clear rules without passwords or API keys.

Is a skill missing or referring to a retired tool? Update the installation and use [troubleshooting](https://ai.wals.pro/help/troubleshooting).
